The excavation for the freeze pit will be inside existing Dominion easement in front of the building at 2900 S Eads St. The ROW will be used for work vehicles and to store a large liquid nitrogen tank used in the freeze pit operation. The existing UG transmission lines will need to be replaced from this point to Glebe Substation at 3225 S Eads. To do this, the liquid coolant that circulates through the UG lines must be frozen in place in order to remove the lines. Once lines new lines are spliced in the freeze pit shack can be removed and the grassed area restored where the freeze pit is located. This will be a 4 week operation that will require night work to monitor the continuous freeze operation until completed. No construction to be performed during night hours.
