Pentagon North Village Access Control Point and Perimeter Fencing. The work includes but is not limited to a new fully suited ACP of approximately 985 gross square feet (GSF) to house vehicular screening, both employee and visitor entrance pedestrian screening and authentication activities, related site rework and improvements to accommodate phased construction and the new buildings, and revised roadways to allow for adequate queueing. The site/roadway modifications include, but are not limited to, new vehicular approach and reject lanes connecting to Boundary Channel Access Road, demolition of the existing access and exit lanes, and related signage. The work also included construction and the siting of the new building, to provide new walkways at the perimeter of the building which tie into existing walkways, new K12 rated security fencing, gates, active vehicle barriers, removal of the South Basin contents and associated piping, wayfinding and signage, and site lighting. The required work includes: re-routing of existing utilities to support the building(s) new locations and equipment; identification of existing remote utility sources; equipment and infrastructure to support an ID check area; coordination and installation of security equipment; and the definition of roadway geometry. Fencing, walkways, screening and detection equipment and technologies that serve as force multipliers for the Reservation’s Force protection efforts are all included as part of this project. A separate support building of approximately 400 GSF contains electrical/JSP distribution equipment, mechanical infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, communication infrastructure, and an adjacent engine-generator set to support the new ACP.
