PROHIBITED STRUCTURAL WORK INCLUDES ANY MODIFICATION TO EXTERIOR WALLS, PARTY WALLS, FLOOR/ROOF FRAMING OR FOUNDATIONS, UNDERPINNING AND EXCAVATIONS (I.E. DIGGING IN BASEMENT). ANY WORK/ALTERATIONS TO THE BASEMENT/CELLAR IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED UNLESS DOCUMENTED AS AN EXISTING HABITABLE SPACE WITH HEIGHTS AND MEANS OF EGRESS PER CONDITIONS OF THE EZ STANDARD. - The lower-level interior walls separating the spare room (storage/shop converted from garage) from the balance of the house interior the wall shall be filled with batts of craft faced R-13 insulation, the craft face is to be installed on the warm side of the insulation.
- The upper-level ceiling to attic shall be insulated with batts of R-39 insulation.
- The lower-level spare room to upper level shall be insulated batts of R-39 insulation.
- The door between the spare room (storage/shop converted from garage) and balance of the building interior shall be a 1-3/8” solid wood door, solid or honeycomb-core steel door not less than 1-3/8” thick or 20-minute fire-rated door, equipped with self-closing
device.
- The interior facing GWB ceiling and walls of the spare room (storage/shop converted from garage) shall be covered with 5/8” inch thick type X gypsu
